Helen Tavetian M.A. AMFT 143068

Helen Tavetian is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who approaches each client with compassion, care, and understanding. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Art History and Studio Arts from Occidental College and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis on Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Helen is trained in the most current, evidenced-based interventions used to treat OCD and related disorders, such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB), and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE).

Helen’s past professional experiences include working in a locked psychiatric facility and working as a crisis intervention therapist. These roles helped further her compassion for clients dealing with some of life’s toughest moments and increased her competency in creative problem solving. Helen believes that no two clients are the same and therefore she strives to create individualized treatment plans and to get to know each client at their core.

Two of Helen’s immediate family members are diagnosed with OCD and Helen has seen firsthand the pain and turmoil OCD can present. These experiences have given Helen a deep understanding and desire to help those suffering from OCD. Helen is eager to work with clients to find healthy and successful paths forward.

Outside of her professional life, Helen enjoys working with animals, creating art, and frequenting the cultural offerings of Los Angeles. She also loves visiting the beach and spending time with her friends crafting and going to LA’s best flea markets.

Seeking treatment is a brave and powerful moment in one’s journey with OCD. Helen is honored to move through the daily challenges alongside her clients and help them to find a life full of beauty and joy.
